This undergraduate-level degree provides an in-depth understanding of engineering principles and is more technology-centric to prepare students for technical roles in the job market. The basic B Tech admission eligibility is completing Class 12 in the Science stream with at least 50 to 75 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects, depending on the chosen specialization.

Some prominent B Tech entrance exams in India are JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT CET, KCET, TNEA Counselling, COMEDK UGET, TS EAMCET, AP EAMCET, etc. for admission. Some popular private colleges also take their entrance exam for B Tech after 12th, like VITEEE, LPU NEST, SRMJEEE, BITSAT, etc. Several colleges that admit students based on Class 12 merit conduct additional rounds like the Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI).

Students can pursue many BTech specializations like BTech Civil Engineering, B Tech Mechanical Engineering, BTech in Electrical Engineering, B Tech CSE, etc. Some popular BTech colleges in India include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, VIT Vellore, Chandigarh University, Delhi Technological University, NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, BITS Pilani, and SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Regarding BTech admission in 2025, there are several top entrance exams that students can consider. The most popular ones include JEE Main, JEE Advanced, AP EAMCET, MHT CET, KCET, KEAM, etc. These exams are conducted at the national or state level and serve as a gateway to various prestigious Engineering colleges across India. Each exam has its own eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and syllabus
The syllabus generally includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and sometimes even Biology for specific specialization exams. The topics covered in each subject may vary slightly from exam to exam, so it is important to refer to the official websites or information brochures of the respective exams to get the detailed syllabus. By understanding the syllabus thoroughly, students can plan their preparation and focus on the relevant topics.
